Direct Cremation
A Direct Cremation separates the cremation from the funeral ceremony so a thanksgiving service or celebration of life can be held wherever and whenever you choose. Unlike mainland providers there are no hidden extra costs for example ferry fares or using the services of a local undertaker to take your loved one into their care as they are not based locally. The price we quote is the price you pay.
It allows you the freedom and flexibility to focus on celebrating a life well lived. Freed up from the cremation it opens up the options for venues for holding your celebration.
At home, on a boat or at favourite spot the possibilities are endless. With ashes being portable they can be brought along to be scattered or simply just part of the celebration.
Furthermore, with the crematorium not open on the weekend for services, the celebration can take place at a time and day to suit you without any time constraints.
Or it maybe your wishes to simply forgo a ceremony, this is entirely up to you.
Step 1
We will meet with you to make arrangements and to advise you on how to register the death and complete the relevant forms required for the cremation with you.
Step 2
Your loved one will be transferred into our care, (if this has not already taken place) and they will remain peacefully at our chapel of rest until the cremation.
Step 3
Once the paperwork has been authorised we will arrange the cremation to take place with no family, minister/celebrant or mourners attending.
Step 4
The ashes are usually available a few days afterwards and upon your instruction they will be ready for collection or can be hand delivered to you at an address on the Isle of Wight or securely couriered to another address for an additional charge.

- Meeting with your family or executors to discuss the cremation
- Guidance completing the necessary paperwork
- Doctor’s fees
- Collection of the deceased on the Isle of Wight
(Repatriation from elsewhere at additional cost and quoted for at time of need) - Simple coffin
- Care of the deceased prior to the cremation
- Unattended cremation at a mainland crematorium
- Simple ashes box or choose a scatter tube for an additional £25.00 (See additional options)
