Farewell Funeral
Our Farewell funeral service provides you with an opportunity to hold a funeral service for family and friends to attend.
It is a simple affordable option that offers you a funeral service followed by a direct unattended cremation at a later date. This option might be suitable for those who want to keep costs down, or those who wish to have a simpler send off.
The Farewell Cremation Service includes our professional fees to arrange the Farewell service and & carry out the direct cremation separately.
If you are looking for an affordable way to say good bye to your loved one – the Farewell funeral service allows you to hold a small funeral service to do just this.
The Farewell funeral service can be led by a Minister or Celebrant for up to a small group of 30 mourners at either our Bembridge or East Cowes venue. The location of the unattended direct cremation takes place depending in the days to follow, depends on whether you have chosen the Wessex or the Island option.
The Wessex option takes place on the mainland and the Island option takes place at the Isle of Wight Crematorium. By having a Farewell service, you and friends and family can decide on how best to say goodbye to your loved one whilst being mindful of the costs.
Step 1
We will liaise with you to make arrangements and to advise you on how to register the death & complete the relevant forms required. You can advise whether you have chosen the Wessex or the Island option.
Your loved one will be collected, prepared and placed in a wooden traditional coffin where they will remain peacefully at our chapel of rest.
Step 2
We will agree a date and time with you for the Farewell funeral service to be held at either our Bembridge or East Cowes venue.
We can recommend a Minister or Celebrant who can lead the service giving you the freedom to liaise and create a bespoke family led Farewell service.
Should you require a printed order of service we can recommend a local printer who can assist you
Step 3
Prior to the service the coffin will be in place at the venue and will rest there until after the Farewell service has finished.
Your choice of recorded music will be organised by us and played at the service.
The Farewell service time can be up to 45 minutes long.
Step 4
Ashes will be available at a later date after the direct cremation and can be collected or delivered Monday-Friday within office hours, or securely couriered to a mainland address for an additional charge
